yea thats the problem. I don't have any additive overdrive either.

and I never use an actual amp for recording. don't need to. My M-BOX has a built in one. you just have to add any overdrive you want, otherwise it'll be clean and rather faint. *.*

when doing lead and rythem (which I do both myself)I split both tracks so that one pans slightly in one direction, the other in the opposite direction, that way the fuzz isn't phased out sounding.

and wish I could get a bass soon so that I don't have to keep making the bass track with VSTs. XP
